According to the Edison Electric Institute, the electric industry in the US plans to spend over $30B per year on new power generation.

• Renewable energy (particularly solar) is great for added capacity, but is not always available (e.g., cloudy days) although the peak availability is often during the peak load times (summer days).

• Wind Power has similar limitations.

• Makes sense to facilitate EV car owners to add capacity to the grid.
